USER RESEARCH
-
Investigating how existing products are interacted with across the various stages of use - before, during and after a festival.
-
Carrying out task analyses of pitching and disassembling tents.
-
Surveying users to understand their experiences with festival camping.

Based on the research, a number of ideas were considered for products that could reduce the issue of tents being left at festivals, leading to three distinct design directions.
CONCEPT IDEAS

Development
Using SWOT analysis to decide on the final design direction, ideas for products that could be hired out to festival attendees and aid with transporting belongings across a site were investigated in more depth.

detailing
The final solution was developed and refined through a combination of sketching, cardboard modelling and CAD with particular attention paid to materials and manufacture.
